You're reading the fully subjective musings of an opinionated, coffee-swilling, wine & sake drinking, gay, bourgeoisie-bohemian over-educated Arab American academic with Eurocentric yet Asian inspired tendencies who divides his time between Seattle (WA), Buffalo (NY) and Paris (France). I've been reading Mark Doty's "Dog Years", and he makes the case for old houses. Mine was built in 1885. I always say I can't live in a house UNLESS it is haunted with a few ghosts.
